I've always wanted my own hot air balloon. I've accomplished this many times actually, before building this latest "real" balloon. I started with a 1 ft tissue paper model that did little else than just exist, then built larger paper models that actually flew, and about 5 or 6 years ago, built my first nylon hot air balloon that has a volume of 900 cubic feet and stands about 15 ft tall. Since building that one, several more larger model/remote controlled balloons have come to be. One of them even went to a guy in Scotland!

I started seriously thinking about building a full size balloon a few years back. Didn't know if I ever really would, but I liked the idea a lot. At one point I was ready to order the fabric and get started, but it never happened and so it just kinda blew over. But, at the end of last summer('06), I started thinking about it again, and decided to do it. I was able to get all the fabric I needed for pretty darn cheap thanks to some good fine people I know. And slowly, bit by bit, I started collecting all the pieces and parts I need(ed) and got it all put together. There are still a few items missing that I will need... all for my "basket".
